My name is Sara Stickel. At Mobile Joints I am dedicated to providing mobile care in the comfort and convenience of your home or workplace. I treat neck pain, back pain, head aches, vertigo, knees, and shoulders. Let me help you feel better and maintain a better lifestyle.
What do you treat?
I treat aches, pains, creaks and strains. If you have a problem with your musculoskeletal system, I can offer treatment that does not involve prescribing medicine by gently realigning your joints to decrease pain and increase your range of motion.
Common conditions treated:
My name is Sara. I am currently residing in Northamptonshire. I received my Doctorate in Chiropractic from Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina USA in 2014. I first moved to the UK in 2017. I am fully insured and registered on the Professional Register of Osteomyologist.
What is an Osteomyologist?
Osteomyology is the study of nerve, bone, and muscle. Osteomyologists use a variety of techniques and treatment methods from multiple disciplines to bring relief and healing to our patients. This means I am open to incorporating my background in chiropractic with multiple techniques to ensure that my patients get the best results possible.
Science Education and Cancer Research
I received my Bachelors of Science in Cell Biology and Neuroscience from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana just north of Yellowstone National Park. While an undergraduate, I researched the early development of the nervous system. I was studying the genes that triggered the development of the nervous system in frog (Xenopus) embryos. This is important to understand, because if these genes become active later in life it leads to brain cancer.
After college I moved to Greenville, South Carolina to work at the Oncology Research Institute at the Greenville Hospital where I researched cancer immunotherapy and worked on clinical trials. I developed vaccines using samples from a Patient’s tumour to trigger the Patients own immune system to target their cancer cells. Cancer research has always been an interest to me, but it became even more relevant after my own Father died of cancer in 2005.
After several years of working in research and briefly teaching High School science (The hardest job I ever had!), I decided to refocus on chiropractic and go to graduate school. I attended Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina and received my Doctorate of Chiropractic. In addition to treating patients, I also worked as an Adjunct Professor of Biology at ECPI University in Charlotte, North Carolina, were I taught Anatomy and Physiology to Nursing students.
